We are a Yorkshire Based Commercial Insurance Broker. We can offer a wide range of products that will help protect your business and/or property.
Business can be a lonely place sometimes. The Yorkshire Broker was formed to, not only help you to secure your business and give you peace of mind, but to also offer you a community. We are bringing together people who might be like you, but just a little bit different; people who can help you out when you need them, give you a bit of advice when you think you’re the only one in your situation and someone who might just be buying what you’re selling.
We are an Insurance Broker, but we are also community builders, community investors and community lovers.
As a team, we have over 40 years’ experience in commercial insurance and have expertise in a number of sectors. With that we can offer you expert advice when it comes to your insurance.
Meet the Team
Martin Weaver-Parker
Managing Director
Martin has 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry and has been trading in the Yorkshire area for a number of years. Martin has expert technical knowledge and has several qualifications with the chartered insurance institute and continues to study and develop. In 2017 Martin was awarded with The Trevor Williamson Memorial Prize from the Insurance Institute of Leeds for best diploma in insurance completion.
Martin’s decision to create the Yorkshire broker was to bring back independent broking to the community. He believes customer service in the insurance sector has decreased in recent years and aims to change this for clients of The Yorkshire Broker.
Martin and the team are committed to giving back to the community and often takes part in challenges to raise money for noble causes. Most recent challenges include taking part in the Great North Run, running 1000 miles in an 8 month period, riding in the London to Brighton bike ride, climbing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks a number of times along with the National 3 Peaks… Martin is always on the look out for the next challenge.
Martin is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and is looking to focus on this both within The Yorkshire Broker and within the community.
Phil Hodgson
Commercial Director
Phil has over 20 years’ experience, working for some of the largest leading Insurance Brokers, and throughout this time has built extensive knowledge across all industries.
When creating The Yorkshire Broker with Martin, we had our customers and service at the heart of our plans, and created our core values around them, to deliver a personal and professional service which we felt has been lost with the demise of independent broking
Phil both professionally and personally has always worked as part of a team and wants to continue with this ethos driving forward when assisting his customers. Not only from a business perspective but also from a personal point of view as he believes it’s important to give back whether referring his clients or generally working to help the community thrive and work together, through various charity events. Examples of this, is Phil has taken part in such activities as The Great North Run, Three Peaks and Charity rugby Competitions raising awareness of not only local charities but also local business organisations
Jane Cross
Accounts
Jane has 24 years’ experience working in the accounts department with insurance brokers and has the knowledge and qualifications to support the business.
Jane has also done several charity bike rides including the Prince of Wales Hospice ride and the British Hear Foundations London to Brighton Bike ride twice.
